Disney and Formula E announced a global streaming deal Tuesday that will bring the all-electric racing series to Disney+ in more than 140 territories, including America. FE events will also stream on ESPN+ (part of the company’s ESPN Select and ESPN Unlimited subscriptions) in the U.S. Financial terms of the tie-up were not disclosed.
Formula E will still be able to negotiate in-market broadcast deals, though it hasn’t announced a traditional TV partner for future seasons in the U.S., where races have recently been covered across CBS and Roku channels. FE’s current season ends this weekend in London.
“This is a landmark moment for Formula E and reflects the incredible momentum behind our championship,” FE CEO Jeff Dodds said in a statement. “Disney’s unrivaled global reach and storytelling will introduce Formula E to millions of new fans while bringing them closer than ever to the drama, innovation and excitement of electric racing.”
The 2026-27 season introduces FE’s Gen4 car, which reportedly includes a 71% peak power increase over the Gen3 Evo and goes from 0 to 60 mph 30% faster than Formula 1’s vehicles. The sport’s calendar is also expanding to include 13 events across 11 countries, opening in Saudi Arabia in December.
