Seventeen mothers who donated breast milk to newborns in need were honoured at ‘Amudham’, organised by the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Gaalaxy in association with the Inner Wheel Club of Coimbatore Synergy and Sushrutha Medical Center recently, according to a release.The mothers had collectively donated around 80 litres of breast milk and were presented certificates of appreciation and personalised mementos, the release said.Kaviya Giritharan, pregnancy coach and childbirth educator at Happy Birth, who has donated around 270 litres of breast milk, shared her experiences at the programme.M. Swathika Manoharan, founder and lead consultant of Sushrutha Medical Center, spoke about the importance of breast milk donation and supporting donor mothers.Nurses of Sushrutha Medical Center who supported the donors during their donation journeys were also recognised, the release said.
