The second match of the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour will feel more like Dunedin than Durban when the All Blacks run out at a chilly, rain-soaked Kings Park on Tuesday night.
Showers and plummeting temperatures have turned the Shark Tank into a sodden cauldron, with the mercury expected to hover around 11°C for the 7pm kick-off.
The All Blacks are unlikely to be fazed by the conditions. If anything, the Sharks will be hoping the slippery surface and cold weather can act as a leveller against a New Zealand side that bears a striking resemblance to the team expected to face the Springboks in the opening Test at Ellis Park on August 22.
The Sharks, by contrast, are fielding a largely young and inexperienced side.
