Scrumhalf Stefan Ungerer scores a try for the Stormers XXIII in their Currie Cup encounter with the Cheetahs on Sunday in Cape Town.
Stormers XXIII assistant coach Sentle Lehoko has insisted the squad remain energised and united as they look to put their heartbreak against the Cheetahs behind them and embrace their next Currie Cup challenge against the Pumas in Nelspruit.
Addressing the media following Sunday's frustrating loss at Athlone Stadium, Lehoko paid tribute to the faithful Cape supporters while stressing that the coaching staff remain proud of the players' effort and fighting spirit.
“It is very disappointing because we want to do the best we can every weekend,” Lehoko said. “We know how much it means to the people who love and support this team, and to see Athlone Stadium packed was incredible.
“While we are disappointed not to get the result, we are proud of how the guys chased for each other. Monday brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm because we still have great opportunities ahead.”
