Israel has shown a strong demand for caregivers, with great potential for workers from Telangana. According to the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM), an agency of the Department of Labour, Employment, Training and Factories, the demand is “huge”.There are as many as 350 job openings for candidates who have completed a diploma in patient care or a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Candidates qualified as multi-purpose health workers, general nursing and midwifery (GNM) and auxiliary nurse midwives (ANM) are also eligible.Israel, which is at the centre of the conflict in West Asia with Iran, is looking for candidates aged between 25 and 45 years, with a minimum of two years of post-registration nursing experience. The contract period is two years. According to TOMCOM, women account for 90% of the requirement, while men account for the remaining 10%. Candidates can expect a gross salary equivalent to approximately ₹1.99 lakh.This comes on the heels of the Telangana government’s efforts to make the public aware of job opportunities for skilled workers, and certain vocations. Recently, P. Aishwaryarani, a physiotherapist, found employment in Germany with a monthly salary of approximately ₹3.5 lakh. She took a course in German language and completed her B2 level.
