Services under the ‘Suvega’ digital service centre of the University of Calicut (CU) will soon be available round-the-clock through an AI chatbot.Till now, the centre functioning from the Tagore Nikethan complex used to answer queries between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. every day. According to university sources, using AI technology will enable the centre to attend calls from around the world 24/7. IT section staff at the university will be roped in for the purpose.At present, two staff are engaged to attend calls between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., six others are in the 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. shift, and two staff are there in the 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. shift. More people will be engaged between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on a working arrangement basis. The existing audio services at the centre will be enhanced, the sources said.A.T.
