SIvaganga District Collector P. Aakash ordered the closure of 16 unauthorised nursery schools in Sivaganga district.Sixteen nursery schools— Scooby Kids School, Karpipom Nursery School, V.D. Kindergarten, Sastha Kids School, UK Kids International School, Little Bee Kids School, Little Genius Kids School, Indal Kids School, Sami Meenal Kids School, Sisu Vidhyalaya School, and Happy Kids Play School in Karaikudi; along with Karaikudi Kids School operating in Panangudi, S.K.OY. Kids School in Tirupattur, Caryon’s Play School in Singampunari, Green Park Play School in Kandanur, and Goodwill Play School in Manamadurai—were functioning without permission, said a press statement of the district administration.According to Sections 18(4) and 18(5) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, schools running without permission is a punishable offence under the law.Therefore, these unauthorised schools must be closed. If the schools continue to operate, strict criminal action would be taken against the management under the law, the statement added.Further, parents were advised not to enroll their children in these schools.
