Eyal Zamir, Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), declared that the Israeli military is maintaining full defensive readiness while remaining prepared for an “immediate return to full-scale war.” He made the remarks while addressing dozens of senior IDF commanders alongside General Brad Cooper, Commander of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
According to The Times of Israel, Zamir stated on Monday, August 10: “We are well prepared in defense, and at the same time, we maintain immediate readiness to return to full-scale war.”
Describing the current period as a “decisive moment for the nation” from a defense standpoint, the IDF Chief of Staff emphasized that the military’s mission is to shape reality by seizing tactical and operational initiative rather than merely reacting to developments.
Referring to ongoing negotiations regarding the Iranian, Lebanese, and Gaza fronts, Zamir asserted that these diplomatic talks are “the product of the IDF’s historical achievements on the battlefield.”
Zamir stressed that the military must ensure that all operational gains achieved during the conflicts are “maximized.”
