Nobody at curl wants to work with Windows: Developer Daniel Stenberg complains about the operating system and reports of security vulnerabilities on Mastodon. Specifically, it concerns curl's seven-person security team, none of whom use Windows. But even beyond that, Stenberg is generally not aware of any suitable individuals for the project – people who are active enough as contributors, knowledgeable about the operating system, and interested in working with the security team.
curl is responsible for transferring data over network protocols such as HTTP and HTTPS. The underlying library, libcurl, is also integrated into numerous applications and networked devices. Both components of the project are open-source software under a MIT-like license.

Currently, reports of Windows-exclusive security vulnerabilities would cause groans and eye-rolls within the team – and sometimes a little hyperventilation. Stenberg is therefore calling on the community on Mastodon to get in touch with him if there is anyone suitable. However, the public replies to his post primarily contain further complaints about Windows and discussions about the advantages and disadvantages of Linux and macOS – it is currently unclear whether curl has found a suitable developer through its appeal.
