QC suspends classes from pre-school to high school on Aug. 11

MANILA, Philippines — Classes from pre-school to high school on Tuesday, Aug. 11, have been suspended in Quezon City because of the expected rains brought by the enhanced southwest monsoon, or “habagat”.

The local government made the announcement based on the recommendation of the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (QCDRRMC), which considered the weather outlook from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Based on the said outlook, rain—50 millimeters to 100 mm—is expected in Quezon City.

The Alternative Learning System (ALS) is covered by the class suspension, as well, but the local government pointed out that Alternative Delivery Modes of Learning should be implemented in classes from pre-school to high school, and as well as ALS.
