A man accused of robbing a British film star's £100,000 Patek Philippe watch has appeared in court.Rachid Bouchibne, 27, has been charged with robbing actor Alexander Johnson of the timepiece on June 10, 2024 in Westminster, London. Wearing a white T-shirt with a cream linen shirt over the top and matching trousers, the defendant spoke to confirm his name, address and date of birth at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.Mr Johnson, 39, has appeared in films including Ms Stewart's The Chronology of Water and the political thriller, The Wizard of the Kremlin, alongside Jude Law and Paul Dano. The actor previously said the watch was a Patek Philippe Aquanaut, which can sell for around £100,000. No pleas were entered at the brief hearing and no further details about the watch or alleged robbery were mentioned in court.Bouchibne, of Hornsey, north London, was bailed and will next appear at Southwark Crown Court on September 7 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.Magistrate Alan Elias said Bouchibne was accused of a 'serious charge' involving the taking of an item of 'significant high value'. Rachid Bouchibne, 27, is accused of trying to steal Alexander Johnson's £100,000 Patek Philippe watch in LondonHe told Bouchibne: 'It's indictable only, we can't deal with it today and must send your matter to the crown court.'Your next hearing will be at Southwark Crown Court on September 7.'Earlier this year Mr Johnson pleaded with political leaders to 'do more' to fight crime in London, telling The Mirror 'the injustice of attacks get under my skin'.He said the number of incidents of theft in the English capital has become 'a very serious problem that has to be properly addressed'. Mr Johnson told the newspaper he suffered a black eye, two broken ribs and other injuries when he was allegedly robbed of his luxury watch, saying he was 'pulled off my bike by a group of guys in a fast and very coordinated robbery'. The 39-year-old also said he tried to fight off some of his attackers but was 'struck' by how quickly they passed the watch between each other.
