Three Algerian thieves who carried out a series of five-figure watch robberies have been sentenced to a total of 11 years behind bars.

Ahmed Zarzor, 29, and Zarwl Brahim, 30, snatched a £10,000 Hublot watch from Brendan Coster's wrist as he walked his elderly mother to a Marlyebone hotel in central London on July 20 last year.

The crooks then jumped into a getaway vehicle driven by Mohamed Kaya, 36, which narrowly missed Mr Coster before they zoomed off, Southwark Crown Court heard.

The victim was left 'very shaken' by the broad daylight attack on his 40th birthday, with his mother also fearing the assailants 'may pull out a knife' as her son gave chase, the court was told.

The following day, Kaya and Zarzor went on to target a guest staying at the Ritz Hotel, James Williams, for his £10,000 Breitling watch as he walked down Bond Street, where Zarzor jumped on him shortly after Kaya's white vehicle drove past.
