The threat posed by wildfires exceeds the capabilities of the state – and not only the Greek one. This was also evident this summer in the rest of Europe.
However, it is not the climate crisis that caused a fire to break out from an overflowing landfill on an island without vegetation – where only new buildings seem to “grow.” It is not the fault of extreme weather phenomena that some people do not even take responsibility for their plot of land. It is not the fault of rising temperatures that the old electricity network remains a permanent source of danger.
