WARRI — The controversy surrounding the alleged assault of the Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Protocol to the Delta State Government, Mr Simon Mudi, popularly known as Temple, has deepened following the indefinite suspension and court remand of the Commissioner for Works (Highway and Urban Roads), Hon. Izeze Rume Reuben.

The commissioner was suspended by the Delta State Government over alleged links to the July 26 incident at the Petroleum Training Institute, PTI, Conference Centre, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

The suspension, which took immediate effect, was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dr Kingsley Eze Emu.

The state government said the decision was necessary to enable security agencies conduct an unbiased investigation into allegations linking the commissioner to the alleged assault.
