The suspension, which took immediate effect, was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, on Monday, August 10, 2026.

The Delta State government has indefinitely suspended the Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Reuben Izeze, over allegations linking him to the assault of the Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, Mr. Simon Mudi, popularly known as Temple.

The suspension, which took immediate effect, was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu, on Monday, August 10, 2026.

According to the statement, the government suspended Izeze to allow security agencies to conduct an “unbiased investigation” into allegations associating him with the reported assault of Mudi at the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, Delta State.

The state government said the decision was necessary to ensure that the investigation could proceed without interference.
