The Special Adviser of New Media to Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Plateau State Chapter, Mallam Abdulsalam Ahmad, has thrown his weight behind controversial Islamic cleric Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir following his recent comments on Nigeria’s religious and political dynamics, accusing Jingir’s critics of hypocrisy for attacking the cleric while allegedly ignoring statements attributed to a Christian clergyman.

Ahmad made the comments in a post on his X handle titled "Silence Is Not Fright," in which he defended Jingir's stance on the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket under the Bola Tinubu presidency and claimed the cleric had remained principled despite pressure from his critics.

Ahmad said, “If you’re looking for a religious scholar who isn’t afraid, and doesn’t compromise on his principles, then when you get Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, the matter is settled.
