Hossein Mohebbi, spokesperson for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claimed that the United States utilised its latest military technologies and artificial intelligence during the recent conflict but ultimately “suffered defeat.”
Speaking on Monday, August 10, Mohebbi highlighted the role of new technologies in modern warfare, asserting that systems deployed by the U.S. during the recent confrontation with Iran ingested and processed data from satellites, drones, radars, sensors, and field intelligence reports to assist in operational decision-making. He emphasised that advanced technologies reduced decision-making, targeting, and firing times from minutes to mere seconds.
Mohebbi asserted that artificial intelligence formed the “core of operations” for the U.S., declaring: “In the recent war, the United States entered the battlefield against Iran’s armed forces with all its capabilities and technologies but was ultimately defeated.”
Addressing the Islamic Republic’s missile capabilities, the IRGC spokesperson claimed that certain IRGC missiles possess mid-flight manoeuvrability, allowing them to bypass enemy air defence systems.
He added that even after a missile’s primary target is locked, operators retain the capability to alter its flight trajectory mid-course and assign it a secondary target.
