A hero City of Cape Town law enforcement officer has been reunited with the baby she helped deliver.
Two weeks ago, on Sunday, July 26, 2026, Law Enforcement Advancement Plan (LEAP) duo Zibula Sitemele and Yonela Sishuba were on patrol in Manenberg when they were flagged down to assist a first-time mom in labour.
With an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team on the phone to assist, the officers helped Kaylee Luyt birth her baby boy, Mahier.
According to a statement from City Safety and Security chief JP Smith, the duo were flagged down by relatives, with little 2.8kg Mahier making his appearance at just after midnight on Monday morning, July 27.
