Khalaili won the Belgian Cup with RUSG last season Alex Bierens de Haan/Getty ImagesAug. 10, 2026 Updated 7:46 am EDTCrystal Palace are in the process of finalising a deal to sign Anan Khalaili from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.Khalaili completed a medical on Sunday as Palace work to finalise an agreement with RUSG for a fee of around £21million.Personal terms are in place on a five-year deal through to 2031, with the option of a further 12 months.Nottingham Forest and Inter Milan had been close to completing a deal for Khalaili this summer, but Palace are instead on course to seal the transfer.The Athletic reported in July Nottingham Forest had seen an offer of €20million rejected by RUSG for Khalaili. He has also attracted interest from Bournemouth and Newcastle United.
The deal would represent a club record sale for RUSG, surpassing the €22.8m (£19.5m) fee paid by Benfica for Franjo Ivanovic in the summer of 2025.Khalaili, a right-sided wing-back or winger, joined RUSG in the summer of 2024 from Maccabi Haifa. His contract with the club had been due to run until 2028.The Israel international was part of the RUSG side that won the Belgian league title during his first season, the club’s first in 90 years, and was then part of the squad that competed in the Champions League the following year, scoring three times in eight appearances.He made 52 appearances in all competitions, providing six goals and six assists.Crystal Palace completed the free agent signing of former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu last week, the club’s second addition of the summer following the arrival of defender Oscar Mingueza.The Athletic reported on Sunday that Everton were in talks to sign Brennan Johnson from Crystal Palace in a deal that could see Dwight McNeil move to Selhurst Park.
