MANILA, Philippines — The water level at La Mesa Dam hit its spilling level of 80.15 meters (m) as of 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10.
Less than an hour earlier at 4:20 p.m., the dam’s water level stood at 80.12 m, just 0.3 m below the threshold.
The dam’s water level was at 80.11 m earlier at 11 a.m., with the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) saying that excess floodwaters will spill over in the event that the dam’s water level reaches 80.15 m.
