Shares of Oswal Pumps Limited were trading sharply lower on Monday, falling 5.11 per cent to ₹309.45 as of 1.48 pm, after the solar pump manufacturer reported a steep decline in quarterly earnings on Sunday, the last trading day before markets opened.The stock opened at ₹310, touched an intraday high of ₹313.80 and slid to a low of ₹297.15, near its lower circuit band of ₹293.50. Traded volume stood at 12.25 lakh shares worth ₹37.68 crore, reflecting active participation. The buy-sell split was nearly even at 51 per cent buy and 49 per cent sell, suggesting indecision among traders.The sell-off follows the company’s Q1 FY27 results, which showed revenue from operations declining 7.9 per cent year-on-year to ₹4,736 million. The sharper blow came at the profit level, operating EBITDA collapsed 47.2 per cent y-o-y to ₹743 million, with margins contracting 1,169 basis points to 15.7 per cent. Profit After Tax fell 43.1 per cent to ₹538 million, with a PAT margin of 11.2 per cent.Management attributed the margin compression primarily to competitive bidding pressure under Maharashtra’s Magel Tyala scheme, which led to a 9 per cent reduction in realisations. A rise in employee costs and negative operating leverage added further strain, resulting in a sequential EBITDA margin decline of 747 basis points.The company’s pump order book stands at 22,025 units, with a near-term pipeline of approximately 12,500 pumps. It is also expanding into Rooftop Solar and Commercial & Industrial solar EPC segments, with a current order book of 72 MW and a pipeline of 359 MW.At the current price, Oswal Pumps carries a market capitalisation of ₹3,533 crore and trades at a trailing P/E of 11.07. The stock is down over 60 per cent from its 52-week high of ₹888.40 hit in August 2025, and has shed nearly 41 per cent year-to-date.
