The Samoa Meteorological Service is urging people to take extra care at sea as strong winds and rough conditions continue across Samoa’s marine waters.
A marine warning remains in force for all marine waters, while a high-surf advisory remains in effect for southern waters.
The latest marine forecast, issued at 11:30 a.m. Monday, said southeasterly winds of 40 to 50 km/h were expected across northern and southern waters, with waves and swells reaching 3 to 4 metres.
Manu Solomona of the Samoa Meteorological Service urged people travelling by boat or taking part in other marine activities to exercise caution while the warnings remain in effect.
The warning follows a boating incident off Vaitele on Saturday when a vessel carrying three people capsized. All three people on board were confirmed safe following the incident.
