Airspace violations in the Baltic states have stopped as Ukraine has shifted its attacks to targets deeper inside Russia, Lithuanian Defence Minister Robertas Kaunas said Monday.

“I think it is good that they are not entering our airspace. Because despite the fact that Ukraine has the right to defend itself and is successfully doing so, our airspace and the safety of our citizens remain our top priority,” Kaunas told LRT RADIO.

He said the absence of recent incursions was likely linked to Ukraine targeting locations farther from the Baltic states’ borders.

Kaunas also said drones that previously crashed in Lithuania had been Ukrainian aircraft affected by Russian electronic warfare systems.

“So far, we have such evidence and confirmation, but that does not guarantee that Russia will not stage a false-flag provocation,” he said. “We are discussing this as well and cooperating with the Ukrainians to gather all possible intelligence, as well as with our NATO partners.”
