Aug 10, 2026 – 4.00pmNews Corporation’s four biggest Australian tabloids are shedding paying subscribers for the first time in a decade, with Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph and Melbourne’s Herald Sun each losing more than 400,000 readers, according to new filings from the news publishing giant.Subscription figures reported by the Murdoch family-controlled company show Brisbane’s The Courier Mail lost more than 8 per cent of its paying audience, falling from 144,000 to 132,000 subscribers. In the year to June 30, the Telegraph fell 7 per cent to 141,000 and the Herald Sun dropped 3.4 per cent to 149,000.
