Lotte Global Logistics began transporting LG Energy Solution's battery ESS to customers across the US in the first half of this year. Starting in the second half, Lotte said its logistics company plans to handle about three times the volume transported during the first half to cover a significant portion of rollouts from the plant.Transporting battery ESS in the US requires specialized logistics capabilities because the systems are high-value and heavy cargo. Logistics operators must minimize the risk of damage through precise transportation controls while meeting strict safety requirements set by the US Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.Lotte Global Logistics said it secured an upper hand in the contract through its logistics expertise and consulting capabilities.The company established a dedicated team to strengthen its local responsiveness and operational expertise. It also deployed its proprietary artificial intelligence logistics platform Shiptte along with a consulting program based on a large language model to monitor vehicle operation records in real time and optimize transportation routes.Lotte Global Logistics added that its integrated logistics services cover sales, consulting, logistics operations and information technology, allowing it to improve both service quality and price advantage.“Winning this contract is the result of Lotte Global Logistics' advanced logistics capabilities and local responsiveness being recognized in the global market,” a Lotte Global Logistics official said. “Building on this achievement, we will further solidify our position in the high-value logistics market in North America.”
