Atiku, Obi Will Lose To Tinubu In 2027 Election Unless Opposition Unites Behind One Candidate, Says Adeyanju

According to him, both Obi and Atiku would lose if they contest separately.

Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has declared that the presidential candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Atiku Abubakar and Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Peter Obi have no realistic path to victory in the 2027 presidential election unless Nigeria's fractured opposition unites behind a single candidate.

Speaking during an interview on the Mic On Podcast anchored and hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, Adeyanju argued that President Bola Tinubu's biggest political advantage is not necessarily the strength of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), but the inability of opposition parties to forge a united front.

According to him, both Obi and Atiku would lose if they contest separately.

"There is no pathway for any of them," Adeyanju said. "As long as Atiku is on the ballot and Peter Obi is on the ballot, none of them is going to become President."
