TIRUCHIMinister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection P. Venkataramanan on Sunday visited the warehousing facilities in different parts of the district.He visited Thulayanatham near Musiri and reviewed the functioning of an open warehousing depot of Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation. He checked the paddy stock, quality of paddy, safety measures, and the method of supplying paddy to the rice mill for hulling. He directed the officials to implement the process in a time-bound manner to ensure that people get rice through fair price shops. He asked the officials to ensure proper maintenance of stock.Later, Mr. Venkataramanan, accompanied by Collector Pratik Tayal, visited a fair price shop at Lalgudi and checked the books of records, stock of essential items, and the system of supply of items to ration cardholders. Similarly, the Minister checked a Social Justice Women’s Hostel at Manachanallur, where 55 students were given accommodation. He interacted with the students and heard their grievances.
