Rescuers came under a repeated Russian attack in the Zaporizhzhia region, leaving one firefighter dead and two others injured.
Ukraine's Interior Minister Ivan Vygivskyi reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"While our units are rescuing people injured in the overnight shelling, the Russians are launching new missiles and drones at Ukrainian regions. A bus carrying children and rescuers who were helping the injured came under attack," Vygivskyi said.
According to the Interior Minister, "two hours ago, a repeated strike in the Zaporizhzhia region killed firefighter and rescuer Oleksandr Prodan. May Oleksandr rest in peace, and our sincere condolences to his family. This is an irreparable loss for the entire Interior Ministry system. Two more employees were injured and urgently taken to hospital."
"During a repeated attack on the Odesa region during the day, a bus carrying 12 children was damaged by the blast wave. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries; one child suffered minor scratches," Vygivskyi said.
