Over the past 24 hours, the Defense Forces repelled five Russian attacks in the Sumy region. This year, the enemy has slightly increased its troop presence near the border, as the number of enemy vehicles destroyed has increased significantly.
According to Ukrinform, Ivan Shevtsov, assistant to the commander of the 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment “Steel Border,” reported this on television.
“Our brigade is engaged in active combat operations in both the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. Overall, the situation in the Sumy region has not changed significantly in recent months. As before, the enemy is more active in the Kursk sector. This is in the Sumy region—along the borders of the Khotin and Yunakivka territorial communities. Over the past 24 hours, five enemy attempts to attack our Defense Forces' positions have failed. Armed Forces soldiers successfully repelled the enemy attacks,” he reported.
Shevtsov noted that the enemy is actively using aircraft in the Sumy region and specifically in the city of Sumy. According to him, the Russians attacked this region with more than eight guided bombs over the past day.
Separately, the spokesperson discussed the situation near the Ukrainian border. He said that Russian troops have concentrated their forces in the Kursk sector, where active combat operations and enemy assault attempts are ongoing.
