A woman was allegedly seriously sexually assaulted in south-west London by a man riding a delivery e-bike.The 'violent offender', who was of West Asian or Eastern European heritage, reportedly carried out the assault at around 11.30pm on Thursday in West Barnes, police said.He was described as being 5ft 9in and aged around 30 with brown, medium to long hair and brown eyes.The Metropolitan Police also said he was wearing jeans, a belt with a gold buckle, black trainers and a black padded coat.According to a Met detective he spoke with an accent, wore a white helmet and rode a pedal-assisted e-bike with a green and black delivery box on the back.Detective chief inspector Rebecca Roberts, who leads the Met's rape and serious sexual assault teams in south-west London, said: 'My teams are doing all they can to identify and apprehend this violent offender. 'We are seeking to identify a man described as being approximately 5ft 9in, approximate age 30, with brown, medium to long hair and brown eyes.'He was wearing jeans, a belt with a gold belt buckle, black trainers, and a black padded coat. He was described as speaking with an accent and could be of West Asian or Eastern European heritage. The alleged sexual assault took place in Meadowsweet Close, south-west London, on Thursday night'The man was wearing a white helmet and was riding a pedal assisted e-bike with a green/black delivery box on the rear.'I would encourage anyone who remembers seeing anything out of the ordinary near Meadowsweet Close or the nearby playing fields to come forward to police. Any piece of information could be vital to our investigation.'She said no arrests had yet been made and there would be an increased police presence near West Barnes over the weekend.DCI Roberts added: 'We understand incidents of this nature cause significant concern within the community, and we are deploying additional officers in the area to provide reassurance and support.'Those with information were asked to contact police on 101 or speak with officers at the scene.Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers.
