New Delhi: India is among the first few countries in quantum technology and has rapidly expanded its space economy through private-sector participation, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Jitendra Singh said on Friday. Singh was speaking at Digit India's Top Appliance Awards 2026 in New Delhi.Responding to a question on when India could become a manufacturing hub, Singh said the country was now "at the same level as any other country in the world" in manufacturing and technology, adding that it was among the first countries in quantum technology.He said the government was also opening the nuclear sector to private companies.
