Environment Canada is warning people to take cover if adverse weather conditions, like lightning and hail, begin to develop in the afternoon.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for Toronto and surrounding areas, as Environment Canada warns of local power outages and quarter-size hail.
The national weather agency issued the yellow watch just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, for a storm expected later in the afternoon. Environment Canada said its forecast confidence was “high.”
