Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Ilsky and Syzran oil refineries in Russia, as well as an observation post on the Sivash drilling rig in the Black Sea.
According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.
On the night of August 8, as part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck several key targets.
In particular, the Ilsky Oil Refinery LLC in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation was struck. A direct hit on the facility was reported, followed by a fire on the plant’s grounds.
The Ilsky Oil Refinery has six processing units with a total refining capacity of approximately 6.6 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The plant receives, stores, and refines hydrocarbon feedstock, and produces and ships petroleum products. The plant’s products are used, in particular, to meet the needs of the Russian armed forces.
