A parliamentary committee has recommended that there should be an integrated security and surveillance system covering all key tourist sites in Jammu & Kashmir. These would involve proper CCTV installations, providing a central monitoring system, conducting regular vulnerability checks, and regular audits.In its 260th report presented in Parliament on Friday, the department of standing committee on home affairs said that there is need to prescribe clear inter-agency SOPs which should be reviewed before the peak tourist season.The suggestions came after the committee’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir in May 2026 when they went to look at the security at tourist placements.
