Since then, the cosy crime drama has confirmed filming has commenced for series five, announcing back in July: "Filming has begun this week on the latest series of #BeyondParadise."‌However, Beyond Paradise fans were left worried about the fate of one favourite character after it was announced that actor Jamie Bamber, who plays Archie Hughes, had landed a new role in EastEnders.‌Jamie, 53, is joining the hit BBC One soap as part of the Hawkins, which is the estranged family of Nicola Mitchell. Holby City's Patricia Potter and Jamie will be taking on the roles of married couple Gemma Hawkins and Ned Roper.Amadeus' Felix Uff will be playing their son, Ryder. They'll be joined by Trying's Marian McLoughlin who will play Nicola and Gemma's mum Rose, and Imposter 22's Anna Constable as Nicola's youngest sister Jodie.‌Jamie said of joining EastEnders: "When 12-year-old me rushed home from school in 1985 to catch the very first episode of EastEnders, I could never have dreamed that one day I’d be walking onto the iconic Albert Square as a character myself."It’s a privilege I don’t take lightly, and I’m thrilled to be making my mark on this crown jewel of my beloved BBC."With the exciting update, Beyond Paradise fans had been left fearing for Jamie's future on the BBC detective series and whether he would be joining series five.‌However, fans need not worry as the BBC confirmed to Digital Spy that Jamie will reprise the role of Archie for the newest season, which means viewers will get more of Archie and Esther Williams' on-off love story.It comes as Beyond Paradise recently announced on Twitter, now X: "Anyone spotted a sleuth by the sea?
