SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — A minor who was reported missing after a drowning incident in Barangay Langlangca 1st, Candon City, was found dead on Saturday morning (Aug. 8) following a search and retrieval operation.
The victim’s body was recovered around 7 a.m. and brought to Candon General Hospital, where he was declared dead, according to the Candon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).
CDRRMO personnel initially responded to the incident around noon on Friday amid incessant rain and deployed Search, Rescue and Retrieval teams to strategic points along the river where the victim was believed to have been swept away.
