More than 1.1 million Ukrainian textbooks have been destroyed as a result of Russian attacks.
This was reported on Facebook by Minister of Education and Science Andrii Butenko, according to Ukrinform.
“According to preliminary estimates, over 1.1 million school textbooks have been destroyed as a result of Russian attacks. A total of 13.5 million copies are being printed for Ukrainian schoolchildren this year, so our shared task now is to make up for the losses as quickly as possible and do everything we can to ensure that the educational process begins without disruption,” Butenko wrote.
He emphasized that the state must support Ukrainian publishing houses whose production and logistics capabilities have been damaged by Russian shelling.
“We are already working on support mechanisms so that they can resume production and children can receive the necessary textbooks as soon as possible,” Butenko noted.
