MANILA, Philippines — The Senate blue ribbon committee will turn over its flood works inquiry to the Office of the Ombudsman, which a political analyst described as the “right move.”
Sen. Erwin Tulfo, committee chairman, announced this on Friday after a “closed-door” meeting with Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla, together with Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian.
“Initially, the Ombudsman and I discussed that they would now handle everything that has to do with flood control,” Tulfo said in an ambush interview at the antigraft body’s headquarters.
