Prague never fails to impress, even after decades of exploration by longtime residents. The sheer number of buildings preserved across the centuries, combined with the density and beauty of the historic center, creates an effect unrivaled among European capitals. Walking through the city feels like stepping into the 14th century, left to follow the cobblestones wherever they lead.

This doesn’t mean the city stays anchored to the past, though. Far from it. Fully enjoying Prague means dabbling in its contemporary side, sampling its pubs and restaurants, and visiting the outlying parks and public squares where residents spend their time.
