What investigators found According to AFP citing German authorities, an unidentified flying object was sighted near the airport shortly before midnight,Tuesday, prompting the diversion of several aircraft, including a passenger flight, to other airports. A bomb-disposal robot was reportedly deployed to examine the object located near the southern runway, and police later confirmed that the unit had “removed the detonator from the explosive attachment.” A separate “security-related incident” had happened earlier that morning, AFP reported, in which a DHL cargo plane reportedly struck an unknown object midair roughly four miles away at an altitude of about 1,300 feet.
