The truth is out there. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day setting box office record after box office record, we can finally talk about the world’s worst-kept secret. And by “we,” we’re of course including the person at the center of it.

After months of speculation, Sadie Sink just did an interview with Variety to discuss her mysterious Spider-Man role. A role that, by now, we’re guessing you know, but just in case, we’ll keep it secret for a few more sentences. In the interview, she discusses getting the role, keeping the secret, and, most importantly, what Marvel Studios movie she’ll next appear in. Yes. It’s that one. Of course, Sadie Sink plays the iconic Marvel mutant Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, making the film not just an excellent Spider-Man story, but a backdoor X-Men prequel too. And, in this new interview, Sink confirmed she will, indeed, appear in Jake Schreier’s X-Men. “Yes, she will [be in that film],” Sink said. “It’s been really exciting all the conversations we’ve had, and I feel really lucky that I have this introduction through Spider-Man and [her] backstory. I think that’s what X-Men is all about, too. The more I’ve gotten into it and researched, what makes them special is that they are all incredibly flawed and maybe have done bad things. That makes them more compelling, complex characters and a more complex hero if they don’t start out that way. And they have to find their relationship to their powers. Because it’s not like they’ve asked for this or that these strengths make their lives easier; they make them a lot harder, actually. So, knowing Jean’s struggle will be important in the future of her character and where she goes, just makes her really well-rounded, which I’m excited for.”
