US President Donald Trump has signed an Executive Order imposing a 15 percent tariff on products made from polysilicon and setting minimum import prices on polysilicon and related products.
Polysilicon is a high-purity form of silicon commonly used as a raw material in solar panels and semiconductors.
The EO will come into effect on December 4, 2026. The minimum import prices will be set at $21 a kilogram for polysilicon, $100 a kilogram for polysilicon ingots and wafers, $0.22 a watt for solar cells, and $0.38 a watt for solar modules or panels.
Tariffs are paid by the importer, not the exporter.
