Deputy national commissioner Lieutenant-General Tebello Mosikili has assured South Africans that law and order prevail despite recent protests and security challenges.

South Africa remains stable and law and order prevail despite months of anti-illegal immigration protests and demonstrations, according to the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NATJOINTS).

Deputy National Commissioner and NATJOINTS Chairperson Lieutenant-General Tebello Mosikili said the country's security forces had maintained stability following the nationwide demonstrations of June 30.

"I am pleased to report that South Africa remains stable, law and order prevail, and our security forces continue to maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone who lives in, works in and visits our country," Mosikili said.

The briefing came just over a month after nationwide demonstrations that tested the country's security capability and co-ordinated law enforcement response.
