An 18-year-old boy was found murdered near Bellandur Lake in southeast Bengaluru on Friday, police said.The victim has been identified as Agrojith Mallik, a resident of Nadia district in West Bengal.According to the police, a labourer found Mallik’s body with severe head injuries and called the police helpline on Friday around 6.50 a.m. When patrolling officers reached the spot, they found Mallik’s head had been smashed with a stone at a vacant site adjacent to the Bellandur Lake.The police suspect that the accused may have had a petty fight with the victim, which may have led to the incident. According to a senior police officer, teams have been formed to trace the accused.“We are yet to establish the victim’s whereabouts before the murder to identify people linked to him,” the officer said. Separate teams are examining CCTV footage from the vicinity to trace the accused.The Bellandur police have registered an FIR under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with murder, and are investigating the case.
