An international alliance of African human rights groups has called for an independent investigation into alleged chemical weapons use by Sudan's army.
The Sudan Coalition, formed in Kenya, urged the creation of an international protection force for civilians and safe humanitarian corridors.
The US imposed sanctions on Sudan's military-aligned government, restricting access to American financing, exports and airspace over the alleged chemical weapons use.
About 16 million people have been displaced since the civil war began in April 2023, with approximately 4.5 million fleeing to neighbouring countries.
