Google has announced Gemini Omni Flash in Google Vids, expanding its AI video workflow with prompt-based editing and the ability to generate new clips. The July 16, 2026 announcements establish the product direction: Omni is being integrated into Vids as Google develops AI-assisted tools for creating and revising video content.

The confirmed rollout is more consequential than a reported short-term free-video allowance because it places Omni inside a Google Workspace video product. For teams already working in Vids, prompt-driven changes could reduce the effort required to iterate on a draft, while generated clips provide another way to fill gaps in a production. Google said the feature would begin rolling out on August 5, 2026 for some release channels.

Reports circulating in early August described a limited allowance of 10 free Omni videos and an August 11, 2026 deadline. The official Gemini and Google Vids materials supplied for this article describe the Omni integration and its capabilities, but do not publish those promotional terms. As a result, the reported allowance should not be treated as a documented, platform-wide pricing or access policy.
