Families with newborn babies will soon be able to apply for new Government support as the Government prepares to roll out the Child Wellbeing Benefits programme.
Eligibility requirements and registration details were outlined during the Child Wellbeing Benefits Consultation held on Thursday, Aug 6.
The Child Wellbeing Benefits programme includes a one-off $200 Newborn Bonus and a monthly $100 benefit for eligible children from birth to 35 months.
The $200 Newborn Bonus will apply to children born from July 1, 2026, and will be paid after the child is born.
The monthly Child Wellbeing Benefit will provide ongoing support for eligible children during their first 35 months of life.
