At least four people have reportedly been killed and 30 others injured after a student opened fire inside a school on the outskirts of Bangkok.The gunman began shooting shortly after 10am local time at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Thailand’s Nonthaburi province, according to local emergency services.Two students and two teachers were reported dead, while three of the injured were said to be in a critical condition.Police had not independently confirmed the final toll as the emergency operation continued. Reuters reported authorities were still working to establish the exact number of fatalities.The suspect, believed to be a student at the school, was reportedly still inside the building at 10.40am local time as gunshots were heard intermittently.Witnesses said the attacker had been seen reloading ammunition.Terrifying videos from the scene showed students climbing through windows and streaming from the campus as heavily armed police and ambulances descended on the area.Emergency radio communications requested a medical team attend the sixth floor of Building 5, where one victim was reportedly receiving CPR.Police Colonel Phatsakorn Chaitaweewong, superintendent of Plai Bang Police Station, confirmed the shooting had occurred inside the school and warned members of the public against livestreaming the unfolding police operation.“The public and parents should avoid the area and follow official updates,” he said.Armed response teams were working to secure the campus while students and staff were evacuated.The Wattananon Rescue Radio Centre, operated by the Poh Teck Tung Foundation in Nonthaburi, reported four deaths.More to come.
