The Special Adviser to the Sokoto State Governor on Security Matters, Col. Ahmed Usman (Rtd.), has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the upward review of the salaries and welfare packages of members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, describing the move as a significant step toward strengthening the country’s security architecture.

In a statement, Col. Usman said the improved welfare package would boost the morale, commitment and operational effectiveness of security personnel who continue to make immense sacrifices in protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.

He noted that military personnel and other security operatives often work under difficult and life-threatening conditions, stressing that enhancing their welfare is both a recognition of their patriotism and a strategic investment in national peace and stability.

According to him, a well-motivated security workforce is essential for effective intelligence gathering, swift response to emerging threats and sustained operations against banditry, terrorism, kidnapping and other criminal activities.
