MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Davao City has apologized over the “inappropriate behavior” of several high school students during the visit of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to Calinan district on July 28.
“We deeply regret the incident and assure the public that such conduct is not tolerated and does not reflect the values of respect, discipline and responsibility that our schools uphold,” it said in a statement issued on Aug. 4.
According to the DepEd division office, the administration of Calinan National High School and its school child protection committee conducted an investigation of the incident on July 30.
Four students of the school were identified and their parents or guardians were invited to a mandatory conference to ensure due process and the implementation of appropriate interventions.
